Nimona headcanons part 3 bc I'm insane (out of order and disorganized so like- be ready) and bc it's my new year gift for y'all
ā€¢ Nimona mostly talks like a normal teen but sometimes she'd use words that show her real age. "Sonorous", "vapidity" n stuff like that. Her vocabulary is INSANELY huge
ā€¢ Ambrosius tries not to swear so he uses a lot of silly replacements instead. "HOLY S- golly!!", "You son of a b- bishop". Like I'm sorry but he's the type of guy to say fricking instead of, yknow, the intended word. Ballister finds it endearing; Nimona finds it stupid
ā€¢ Yes yes he does replace sex with lovemaking. Yes he purely refers to him and Bal going at it as "making love". Yes he's a fellow like that
ā€¢ Ballister doesn't drink alcohol. I know that's implied in the movie that he drinks (although I thought he drank, like, soda?? On the other hand he is a wholeass thirty years old man who's seen some shit so I wouldn't be surprised) but idk he strikes me as a type to refuse drinking out of moral code. He doesn't eat pork for the same reasons (pushing my cultural Muslim Ballister agenda)
ā€¢ Ambrosius drinks only during celebrations or parties. Not much because he's a light drinkeršŸ˜ one cup and he's already lying on the floor, crying and hyperanalyzing his life
ā€¢ after Nimona came back Ambrosius was not safe from her jokes. Neither of them despised each other (not after Nimona saved the whole Kingdom and not after Ambrosius proved he really isn't a jerk) but boy does Nimona make fun of him on any given occasion. Ambrosius was taken aback by this at first but then he just got used to it
ā€¢ Ambrosius is being kinda petty and jealous when Ballister spends more time with Nimona than him ("Although now apparently he's got a new best friend, what's that about?!"), not in a way that'd make it unhealthy ofc but stillšŸ˜. Him and Ballister were tied to the hip for like the most of their lives and now there's someone ELSE Ballister likes to hang out with? UghšŸ™„
ā€¢ Ambrosius had a diary when he was a teen, he didn't write much there (one or two sentences a day). Once he became an adult he kind of forgot about it but after the whole... Hunting stuff started happening he found himself writing a ton of sentences there again
ā€¢ when him and Bal started dating Ambrosius had a whole page in that diary filled with "Ambrosius Boldheart" HE'S A GUY LIKE THAT OKAY
ā€¢ Ambrosius likes to attack Ballister's face with quick little kisses. If he pecked his forehead he must peck his cheeks and nose and eyelids and cheekbones etc etc
ā€¢ Nimona sometimes speaks in rhymes. She doesn't know how she's doing it but her tongue just does it on its own. ("Let's go dunk on the punk in the trunk")
ā€¢ Ballister has actually been a year older than everyone in his class, another reason why he was the black sheepā„¢
ā€¢ Ambrosius can play the flute and the piano due to his noble upbringing he HATES whenever someone brings it up tho
ā€¢ Nimona and Ballister have those nights where they recall historical facts and situations and Nimona shows her perspective of the things. "The guy claimed to be a war criminal was the biggest sweetheart in the world what are you onnn". Ballister wrecks his brain trying to understand if she's serious or not
ā€¢ Ballister doesn't get a lot of the jokes, they just fly over his head. Only after some time he starts getting them, like in the middle of the night randomly going "ohhhh that's what she meant"
ā€¢ first time Ambrosius and Ballister made out Ambrosius threw his hands in the air and said "yayy :D"
ā€¢ Ballister's haircare routine is better than you think it is he's just casual about it. Yes he uses coconut oil like his life depends on it
ā€¢ Ambrosius's complexion is leaner but Bal's is broader. So when they exchange clothes it doesn't fit because Bal's shirts are too loose on Ambrosius but also kinda short and Ambrosius's are kinda long but too tight in the shoulders for Bal. They still think it's sweet to swap their clothes sometimes

hii! saw your matchmaker-thingy js now and instantly KNEW I had to try it out lmao. Iā€™m kinda scared
Iā€™m abt 156cm tall (5ā€™1ā€ I think), have brown eyes n brown hair and am mixed (Vietnamese-Swiss-English), I got like a short wolf cut. I have some scars on my hands and legs, some sh scars on my forearms and stretch marks on my thighs.
Uhh idk I can talk abt literally anything (deeptalk>>>) & am an animal lover. my first language is German, I also speak Swiss German and English (obvi) but also a bit Vietnamese and Norwegian. I grew up with mostly Asian culture, together with European culture and really love rice, duck, seafood and summer rolls. My social battery goes low rlly fast but I love being around the ppl I trust, my love language is physical touch. If not lazy, I can do absolutely crazy shit but I donā€™t like illegal stuff or shit o could get in serious trouble for.
Iā€™m bisexual n female (she/they) but rather lean towards men, I love to draw and sketch and paint and all that stuff, also like crystals and taxidermy (only non-animal abuse (idk the word) stuff yk) and books. My hobbies r drawing, reading, writing, and I wanna start with boxing or some other martial art soon. I used to play hockey, and also play the guitar (acoustic)
Also I self-diagnosed w autism n probably(?) social anxiety since my parents would never let me get tested šŸ‘. If u take me on walks, I WILL take any cool shit that I find and take it home. No, this old cassette is not trash, it is a treasure.
My music taste is absolutely everything but the stuff that I donā€™t like, but my fav artists r the Neighborhood, The Weeknd, Lil Peep, TJ Beastboy, the Crane Wives, Alex G, TV Girl, Flawed Mangoes, McCafferty and the Front Bottoms
My fav colors r black, green and blue, also I think with the ppl Iā€™m comfortable around I WILL constantly be touching em in some way like hand on shoulder or elbows/knees touching yk. Sometimes energetic, but when my social battery has run out you can drag me through a hangout.
DC, sbg, tadc, spider-man and CoD fan, also if youā€™re racist, sexist, ableist, homophobic or transphobic, please go fuck yourself šŸ«¶šŸ¼, I support/accept furries and therians and cosplayers, Satanists and pagans/wiccans as much as Muslims and Christians, Jews as well as Hindu or Buddhist ppl
I LOVE js going outside to hangout n do dumb shit, play fighting>>>, n maybe pick flowers
Soo that was it lmao idk if this is informative or just bs
Also ty<333 if u actually make a match for me
(Also because you write so much you get an analysis)
Your DC Universe Ship: Jason Todd
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Explanation: starting off with your appearance, I think that he would find you very attractive and I think as kind of a head canon of myself I think that he finds shorter people attractive because I donā€™t know. I feel like he just likes to kind of feel like he has that power maybe or I donā€™t know. I just think he makes it think it makes you look adorable even if you can very well kill someone I just I donā€™t know. I think he really likes having a shorter partner, additionally I donā€™t think he would mind Scars because he has plenty of his own. I think he would definitely find stretch marks that might be an unpopular opinion, but I think that Jason Todd would definitely stretch marks attractive. He thinks itā€™s insanely cool that you can speak multiple languages and would probably want to try and learn some of them that he doesnā€™t know himself. I also think that he can maybe speak a little bit of German aside from English and I donā€™t know I just think he seems like the type of guy that would learn like a little bit of language like German or Russian. You can talk about anything and you talking about things with him out the opposite he doesnā€™t really talk as much about that kind of stuff and I donā€™t think that you guys would be really compatible in that way because you could get him to talk about anything which is something that not a lot of people can do so congrats. He loves it whenever you make food for him or whenever you can recommend different restaurants or things because I think heā€™s definitely a foodie and would appreciate having different culture food. I think that heā€™s has a pretty high spice tolerance. He gets the social battery thing but heā€™s slightly hypocritical, because whenever he wants alone time, he gets it. But if you want itā€¦. He may just follow you around and hope you donā€™t notice. ļæ¼ but in terms of your social battery running out for other people he would completely understand and most likely you would have trouble dragging him to Social events. I think that he would find your hobbies fascinating, and I think that he would love watching you do taxidermy and the whole process of it. He would ask a lot of questions about or is Benny as heā€™s interested in asking and I feel like he would also love the fact that youā€™re an artist because heā€™s never really been much of an artist himself. I feel like heā€™s more if he would be anywhere in art I feel like he would be more musician and, he loves the fact that you can play the guitar and thinks that itā€™s really cool. If you ever expressed interest in martial arts several and is the equivalent of a belt and most of them because he was shoved so much martial art training whenever he was trying to become Robin so Iā€™m sure that he would be happy to teach you, but he would totally make fun of you if you messed up like in a teasing, friendly, loving way, but still. He would think he was as if you could somehow win against him in a fight. He probably let you win, but I donā€™t know. I think heā€™d find that hot. He also really likes reading and writing. I think he likes reading way more than writing but I think heā€™s probably written poetry before that heā€™s never really shown anyone and heā€™s like embarrassed of it but you know I think he really does love reading and would totally like read the same book with you if he was interested in it and talk about it with you. I think he thinks itā€™s pretty cute and also pretty cool that you find just random stuff off the street and itā€™s like treasure to you. I just think that he really values that in a person, especially because he grew up on the street and knows more than anything that materialism isnā€™t always where you find your treasure. I think he wouldnā€™t mind your music taste, and like some of it, but he definitely is more leaning into like Dad rock type of things and I think that he could still enjoy some classic TV girl though I donā€™t think heā€™d be like super big about music, but I definitely feel like if you were playing a song that he didnā€™t like as much he would instantly turn on like the rock station or something.
Heā€™s ļæ¼definitely a ā€œ Iā€™m driving so I can control the radioā€ type of guy. I think it would take him a while to grow comfortable with touching in a relationship, but youā€™re usually the one exception to someone who will he allows to touch him and youā€™re the one person who quickly gained his trust to which is an unusual trade for him, but I feel like you would be kind of the one exception as to a person he would feel comfortable with being physical because he knows how much you enjoy physical contact, and that itā€™s your love language. I donā€™t see him as a generally like physical person, but I feel like you could change that like with you itā€™s different. He also thinks that the fact that you pick flowers is very very, very, very cute and would probably be reluctant and say that he doesnā€™t like it, but he very secretly likes it whenever you make him like a flower crown or something or put a flower in his hair. He also arguing over shit and I feel like you guys definitely have a lot of arguments turning into make out sessions type of relationship and play fighting with. Also turn into make out sessions. I mean, yā€™all are just like all over each other all the time and the rest of the family has to stand there like šŸ˜‘ but you guys donā€™t like flirt with each other you guys like tease each other and thatā€™s how you flirt so thatā€™s thatā€™s just the vibe I get from your relationship anyway I ship it
and Iā€™m so sorry for taking this long to complete this. Iā€™ve been really really really really really busy and yeah, I had to shut down my ship asks for a bit because of the fact that I was getting so overwhelmed and getting so many so I really hope this did it justice!!! Much love Pookie bear ā™„ļøā™„ļøā™„ļøā™„ļø

like im personally not fond of organized religion as a concept but being an asshole to people who are a part of it is icky
like yes some of these people definitely do come from a Christian background and definitely donā€™t understand the complexities of other stuff Iā€™m not denying that. Ppl need to talk to others with lived experience
But like. People are allowed to be critical of things. Itā€™s research and talking to people about it. Like there are far too many ā€œprogressivesā€ who will flip out over say, a conservative Christian republican saying something mild about traditional family values because of their religion but then turn around and be like ā€œthis is okay actually because of culture and religionā€ upon being presented with something horrific from a Shariah country. Like if youā€™ve read the hadiths youā€™d know that they endorse killing Non/ex muslims and straight up said women have half the mind of a man and encourage killing and lashing homosexuals. Like organized religion like that is the reason queer people are ā€œillegal in 72 countriesā€ as Americans far too often joke about. My partner used to live in Saudi and was told by teachers not to write about certain things in essays because it was dangerous. One of my mutuals who lives there is trying to escape but is in danger of being forced into an arranged marriage and also can literally legally be killed for apostasy and lives in fear of that. Also a huge amount of women there have potentially deadly vitamin D deficiency despite being in an extremely sunny placeā€¦ hmm i wonder why. Also just look at whatā€™s happening in iran. Iā€™m not gonna go into all the shit to unpack w that stuff, but thereā€™s a lot. but then you get progressive people from other countries. And a lot of them have either been convinced that stuff like that is okay because ā€œueuuee its a different religion and cultureā€ or recognize the issues but wonā€™t speak up about it because theyā€™re scared it makes them islamophobic. (criticizing a set of beliefs [especially ones used to design governments] is 100% fine, being an asshole to harmless individuals is not). And that seems really frustrating for activists who live in shariah countries. Making it sound like people arenā€™t allowed to criticize things isnā€™t helpful to the people who actually live in oppressive environments due to organized religion.
spiritual beliefs n stuff are chill but once you get into organized religion with rules it can become dangerous. But like if someone is being a dickhead to someone else on a bus about having a religious garment Iā€™d help them get out of that situation. Like. itā€™s possible to dislike organized religion and be an activist against the ways religion can harm people without being an ass about it to individuals hehfhs. Telling people that they shouldnā€™t think critical thoughts isnā€™t helpful though and it helps perpetuate oppression
When your takeaway is that ā€œIslam is violent and badā€ and not ā€œthis region was victimized severely by western imperialists who like to sew dissonance, firebomb cities, and elect dictators in order to keep these countries in a state of disarray and war at all times to justify western troops stationing there to protect and seize western assets (oil and other resources) and use the desperate for cheap laborā€
You cannot compare oppression under Islam in the Middle East to oppression under Christianity in the west because it was the Christian nations that did that to the Middle East. And they do the same thing in Latin America, east Asia, and Africa because if imperialists and capitalists can ensure that non-westernized countries at least LOOK less developed to westerners, they can get away with so much out of a self-aggrandizing perceived superiority complex that keeps the people from perceiving the constant US military presence in these countries as the act of imperialistic ethnocide that it is.
This isnā€™t as black and white as you think it is.

thank u for ur reply!! i always love ur insight :) n ive read the article before LMAO now that was a classic example of his pretty privilege working cus if he didnā€™t look the way he did, his behaviour wouldā€™ve raised eyebrows. but noā€¦he was viewed as a quirky silly guy by his roommate LOLZ. makes me wonder if mohammed atta would be viewed the same way if he were white passing.
anon you fascinate me im very very intrigued by the fact u already know so much abt this... keep sending asks its soo rare that i actually do get to talk to someone who already knows this much abt this. Anyhow I would reason to bet he might have been viewed more sympathetically if that were the case, however, in any case he was arguably more reserved and stoic by comparison so i think even if he was, people would be maybe a bit more suspicous with him, especially cuz fitting in seemed to come more naturally to jarrah for various reasons... atta never seemed to want to fit in more than he needed to in order to stay under the radar. I know that atta and jarrah did also butt heads abt this to some degree, i know that atta was suspicious that jarrah might even give up on the whole thing cuz of how he kept backsliding. I also think a lot of writers can "see themselves" in jarrah while they really cant with atta, he's an unfamiliar personality imo, specifically bc most writers in the anglosphere come from a secular culturally christian perspective. I think they r sympathetic to him because they start to realise that this sort of stuff really is something that "just anyone" could find themselves getting roped into thru means of being radicalised. Meanwhile I think they view atta as someone who already was quite "radical" at least in their eyes. of course, this is just my experience, but I've had many of my muslim accquantinces comment on how its actually quite a shame that atta took the path he did, because they feel he was otherwise quite promising, and might have made a good scholar or something along those lines. So thats the other side of things if you will. I think I can agree with that perspective myself. Of course its important to not get too engulfed in that mindset, because you can't forget they made the choices they did.
But yeah, there are many things about atta that Ive read about that i find to have been equally quirky and silly of behaviors, but i find myself annoyed how writers (even terry mcdermott does it in his book, perfect soldiers. which is a bit disappointing bc hes a writer who i otherwise rlly enjoy the perspective of on this) dont seem to think that way and paint it to be something as flaws or show of bad character when really, personality and behavior quirks have little to do with his actions. Yknow what i mean of course. Demonizing behaviors that have nothing explicitly to do with being a terrorist. You are really fun anon, its fun for me to get to discuss this stuff, the psychology/characteristics/behavior of those involved with the hamburg cell. its fun when i get to discuss it with more than just my super close friends. sometimes i get nervous ppl might think im trying to be a sympathizer/idolizer but i think i make it more than clear its not the case though xP. its undeniable that its a pretty understudied and underdiscussed facet of 9/11. U see it for other crimes and criminals but not really ever on this side of the fence. I feel its a case of dehumanization borne from islamophobia. Easier to get ppl to feel hate when you paint the perpetrators as faceless monsters. If u ever wanna dm me off anon u are super free to. Also, if you have anything to share that is interesting like a video or article or anything like that, feel free to send it! even if i have seen it or read it before, i would be eager to discuss my thoughts and feelings on it.

mena im soo lonely. all of my friends basically never try to involve me in anything and are always hanging out with guys, theyre all bi but they only really ever date and talk about guys, they make me feel like im an ugly man weirdo (even though im feminine. i just don't wear makeup really)
i soo badly just want lesbian or gay friends bc i really struggle to feel understood currently. rn im a teen and im scared my loneliness will only get worse as i go into adulthood.
did you ever experience something similar and how were you able to get gay/lesbian friends? šŸ’œ
yeah ive had moments in university and school where i basically felt quite othered bc my female friends would often talk about guys and their crushes and male celebs etc and that didnt interest me so id either disconnect or (sth i did as a child) id invent stuff to try to fit in but i felt somewhat uncomfortable n different bc of it regardless. BUT i can at least tell u that finding gay & lesbian friends is not at all impossible, u meet 1 gay man or 1 lesbian and suddenly u end up meeting more n more bc they also tend to have their own gay & lesbian friends. even end up finding bi people who aren't so OSA-centric.
im not sure if it'll help u at all but. when i was in school, most of my friend group coincidentally turned out to either be gay or bi. in my female friend group: 1 turned out to be bi, 1 turned out to be a lesbian (& they were the ones i was closest to as well), and then from my male friends 2 turned out to be gay men. we didnt consciously know of each other's sexualities but i think we somehow subconsciously knew and connected w each other based on being semi-outcasts and different without knowing/admitting exactly how we are different. after school, at uni, i did go through about 2 years where most of my friends were het. i was living abroad and i noticed that in a lot of the west, ppl tend to only want to be friends w people of similar ethnic/racial/cultural backgrounds so my friends mostly ended up being muslim women (which was unusual for me lol. ik its odd since i grew up in a muslim country but most of my friends were not religious or weren't even muslim at all). i did have 1 friend, a bahraini gay man, who i knew through a woman i had a thing with. he was coincidentally going to the same uni as me. she introduced us and we became close friends. one of the muslim women i was friends with also ended up coming out to me as bi (she dated women briefly at first then ended up in relationships w men tho). there were several lesbians on radblr who lived in the same area as me and invited me into their group & bc of that i ended up having a lesbian friend group in the UK. wed go to lesbian events together which was fun! then in germany, i befriended the obviously gay guy in my german class bc i wanted to make friends in the country & he seemed cool. he introduced me to some other bi & gay people but i never rly became friends with them. my gf also introduced me to several lesbians & my aunt (an activist working for an LGBT org) also introduced me to several bisexuals, gay men & lesbians, many of whom i ended up befriending. so for me most of it was through other people, often women im dating or gay friends i have.

Um, NO, no no non N. O. I was on board for the first half as naive as ā€œmy side of the internetā€ wouldnā€™t be into nazi/ussr shit, is. But that second half is maliciously DUMB.
People in America arenā€™t overwhelmingly pro Israel because they are Muslim racists. Thatā€™s ignorant. Hamas is and has been FILMING the WAR CRIMES they are doing. People donā€™t like the rape is resistance and hostages are a psyop crowd because propals SUPPORT TERRORISTS doing things to civilians that are beyond the pale and illegal in war.
Conflating terrorism with Arabs et all is the racism. If Arabs all 1000% want and support furthering terrorism and violence and imperialism into the rest of the world starting with Israel, then I would have as big a problem with Muslims as Nazis. But THEY DONT. A ton of Arabs in the Muslim world and the western world (especially the ones who have lived and escaped from theocratic dictatorships) definitely donā€™t support fucking terrorism any more than all Christians supporting the sovereign citizens movement.
Leftists arenā€™t ā€œaccidentallyā€ using zio and zog. They mean that stuff AS itā€™s intended. You canā€™t say, ā€œaipac controls congress because Americans are all nut job evangelicalsā€ out of one side of your mouth and, ā€œZOG is nazi shitā€ out of the other. Thatā€™s the same sentence. Evangelicals arenā€™t guided by Jews, they have their own views which is pretty fucking clear if you are alive in 2024.
You canā€™t say, ā€œIā€™m scared of random white women in the store for fear of police.ā€ Out of the same mouth you say, ā€œitā€™s wrong that Americans all want Palestinians dead, but they do,ā€ and ā€œaipac turned the anti Arab dial up.ā€
Where are the people who want Palestinians dead? 99% are saying ā€œkill Hamas.ā€ These leftists are the ones saying hamas and Palestine are the same. And lebonon is the same right? And Iran is the same right? All these Arabs live in happy harmony with their governments? You canā€™t say, ā€œwe low key live in an evangelical theocracy controlled by (zog) aipac, we should support a high key Muslim theocratic dictatorship to save poor baby Arabs who love having religion (at least their governmentā€™s totalitarian petroleum based wealth and army defended version of the Muslim religion) control their lives and literally demand Arabs martyr their 12 year olds for the optics.
Itā€™s not fine and a cultural choice to make missing evangelical Sunday school illegal or skirt length or forced birth or forced marriage mandatory by threat of jail or worse. Why would anyone support other people being forced to follow religious orders by state police and jail/torture when they donā€™t want to be controlled like that either????
Fuck this take. Fuck anyone who defends this. This is malicious behavior and should be persecuted as the first toe into the water of radicalization that it is.
TL;DR ā€” Countering the false one-liner ā€œThe US belongs to Israel.ā€
The speaker mentions how that does actually come from antisemitic tropes, and a lack of recognition and responsibility-taking from Americans regarding the United States empire.
ā€”
The video is a Black man speaking. He uses the username thiiirdperson on TikTok. His head is bald. He has a beard and mustache. He is wearing a dark blue shirt. There is a comment on the screen from a different video that reads ā€œThe US belongs to Israel.ā€ He is responding to that comment verbally.
Below is my rough transcript of the video. Bold text is what Iā€™ve chosen to emphasize.
ā€œIā€™m going to assume that this is accidental antisemitism because of a couple of things. Number one: I am a good faith assumer, right? Number two: I understand that this algorithm does not generally put a lot of fascist, right-wing type people in the comment sections of my videos. Iā€™ve been on here for almost four years now. My people are my people. ā€˜My sideā€™ of the internet is ā€˜my sideā€™ of the internet, as far as this algorithm knows me. They donā€™t send me a whole lot of people like that over here. And number three: I just think this is a very common comment that Iā€™ve seen bubbling up. Itā€™s just a pattern that Iā€™ve seen. People on TikTok will just start saying stuff that theyā€™ve heard sometimes. And Iā€™m not trying to like, say that youā€™re a follower, Iā€™m just saying that you see the same comment over and over and over, on a sufficiently popular video or a series where youā€™re talking about a topic.
And so I want to talk about this pattern where people have started saying that like Israel ā€˜ownsā€™ the US. Or the US ā€˜belongs toā€™ Israel. Iā€™ve also seen the pattern of people using the shorthand ā€˜Zioā€™ to talk about Zionists. Or, even regrettably, ZOG to talk about a ā€˜Zion Occupied Government.ā€™
And hereā€™s the problem with all those terms: itā€™s all Nazi stuff!
Itā€™s all like/literally stuff from like the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, which is this old Nazi text that tells this false story of a secret cabal of Jews at the top of everything. And they ā€˜run the worldā€™ and ā€˜dominate finance.ā€™ And ā€˜everything that happens in the world happens because they said it should happen. And they say stuff should happen because it only benefits them.ā€™
And so, even though Israel is this teeny-tiny country compared to the US, the GDPs are not similar at all, somehow Israel manages to own the US. Even though the US is the country that has military bases all over the world. Even though the USā€™s treatment of Japanese prisoners IDF policy on Gaza. Somehow, ā€˜Israel is really running the show.ā€™
And I think we just have to be very very precise when we talk about this stuff. Because I think what you meant to say here is that Israel has a successful lobby in AIPAC, that has ideological goals that happen to align with the tradition of evangelical Christianity that dominates the American imagination. Such that, enough people who are representatives already *want* there to be an Israel thatā€™s full of Jewish people, because it fulfills their rapture requirements in their own faith; That you only have to nudge that religious thing a little bit; You just have to throw a little bit of extra into a campaign (sometimes a lotta bit) and people will already show up who are willing to primary similar progressives who are just less hawkish on Israel. Because in their own heart-of-hearts, theyā€™re like ā€˜nah we gotta kill some brown people to make room for some tan people to go to hell for the sake of the Black and the white people.ā€™ Thatā€™s living in our hearts as a country. We gotta own that as Americans.
The other thing about this is that like some people accidentally find themselves backing into repeating fascist talking points, because their hearts are broken at the idea that their own country could really want this for Palestinian people. Itā€™s an easier story for us to tell ourselves that somehow weā€™re being ā€˜controlledā€™ or ā€˜dominated,ā€™ that we donā€™t really want this for Gaza, we donā€™t want this for Palestine. And itā€™s the similar lack of ability to like reckon with reality that people had after the 2016 election. 53% of white women in this country are the type of people that voted for Trump in 2016. Thatā€™s a weirdā€¦ I think about that all the time. Iā€™m at the grocery store and Iā€™m looking around every time Iā€™m in the produce section, Iā€™m around 3-5 women who would probably call the cops on me if they were afraid for a second, and hope that I got ventilated. Because, you know, they see my skin and think ā€˜Chicagoā€¦ cities burning.ā€™ You know, theyā€™ve been very propagandized. But once again, when we say that stuff, that like ā€˜Fox News has propagandized all these racists, that itā€™s brainwashed all these people and turned them racistā€™ ā€” Is that really true? Or is the reality under the hood, that a lot of people watch Fox News because they *already* kinda donā€™t like Black people and it seems like the news anchors donā€™t either. They *already* kinda donā€™t like gay people. Nobody *installed* a racism dial on these people. It just turns them up. The AIPAC money just turns up the ā€˜anti-Arab dial.ā€™ Itā€™s already there. Thatā€™s already part of our psyche. Itā€™s not like somebody comes and installs it and then goes ā€˜okay now weā€™re just gonna set it, just by default how about we move it right to a 5,6ā€™ ā€¦ā€

(Sort of) so Ramadan started about a week ago and Iā€™ve been fasting that good and all and the month is basically about improving yourself and such and it just been really hard and Iā€™ve felt like Iā€™ve been being put down, and Iā€™m just trying and I feel like Iā€™m not getting results quickly, this is prob from my thoughts and stuff my dad said to me, and was just hoping for some sbi comfort for this, if ur uncomfy or donā€™t know enough about Islam, cool ignore this -Tall soft anon
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(A/N): Ramadan mubarak! If anything in this is portrayed incorrectly/wrong/offensively, please let me know so I can fix it. The last thing I would want to do is portray such a beautiful holiday offensively or incorrectly
When the SBI fam found out you practiced Islam, they wanted to get to know every aspect of it and the holidays you celebrate
They love learning about the cultural differences
You encourage them to ask questions about Islam and they readily do so, being very curious about your religion
When you explained Ramadan to them, they were worried for your health when you told them about fasting from dawn to dusk
ā€œIsnā€™t fasting unhealthy though, (y/n)? Donā€™t get me wrong mate, weā€™re just worried for your health.ā€
ā€œOh, itā€™s perfectly healthy to fast! We get to eat large meals after Iftar and Suhoor, which is after sunset and before the sun rises. These meals are plentiful and give us plenty of energy to last through the day. It helps us get a closer relationship to Allah and it allows us to appreciate what we have.ā€
ā€œThat still sounds hard to do, is there anything we could do to help you? We can not eat around you if you want.ā€
ā€œI would prefer it if you guys continue with your normal days without changing anything. Like I said, this is a challenge for me to overcome to get closer to Allah and work on myself. I appreciate the concern though!ā€
Despite you telling them not to change anything, they still limit how much they eat around you until you told them that it was perfectly okay for them to eat and drink things around you
When you invited them to the Iftar feast with your family and their invited friends, they were honored and was very respectful to your family
Them never talking during the pre meal prayer in respect to the Muslims praying at that time
They will censor themselves around you, which was understandably difficult for Tommy to do, but he tries his hardest to watch what he says
If anything, it surprises you that he hasnā€™t sworn around you or said any inappropriate jokes to you at all since Ramadan startedĀ
Philza jokes that Tommyā€™s also using Ramadan to better himself and abstain from swearing as often
They 100% remind you when Salah is approaching if you have difficulties doing it on time
Wilbur and Philza are the most diligent with it though, setting alarms on their phones ten minutes before
They make sure you have everything you need (a room to yourself for privacy, make sure the house is quieter than it normally is and nobody is screaming, etc) for salaatĀ
If yall are out in public and itā€™s time for you to pray, they make sure nobody bothers you while youā€™re praying towards Mecca
If someone tries to be rude to you about your practices, they will go OFF on them and make sure youā€™re alright before taking you away from the situation and helping you carry on with your day if youā€™re shaken up about it
Philza will do small things with you such as gardening, going for walks, or even telling you appropriate stories about his adventures (if youā€™re in the in game au that is)
He makes sure youā€™re getting enough sleep and getting the proper amount of food and water when youā€™re allowed to eat and drink
Technoblade would ask you to tell him stories about the Jin and Shay-Tan and other aspects of the religion while he would tell you about Greek myths (making sure that the story isnā€™t haram to tell you during Ramadan before telling it to you)
Techno absolutely loves learning about and hearing Islamic stories, being the type of guy to crave knowledge from different culturesā€™ literature
Wilbur would be the one to comfort you when you feel like youā€™re not making any progress or are feeling down
ā€œHey, whatā€™s up?ā€ Wilburā€™s quiet voice sounded as soon as he picked up the phone. ā€œNothing muchā€¦ I just wanted to talk to you.ā€
ā€œAtā€¦ eleven at night? Whatā€™s going on? You know you can talk to me about anything.ā€
You sighed, ā€œI donā€™t know Wil, I-I just feel like Iā€™m not making any progress on myself. Iā€™m supposed to focus on and improve myself and I just canā€™t! I donā€™t know what Iā€™m doing wrong.ā€
ā€œHey,ā€ his soft tone soothed you slightly, ā€œitā€™s perfectly normal to feel like that. Iā€™ve read that plenty of other Muslims feel like that during Ramadan. Life just has a special way of making us feel down sometimes and it sucks. You arenā€™t doing anything wrong whatsoever. Iā€™ll tell you what, after Ramadan is over we can make some music together and have a jam session!ā€Ā
You frowned, ā€œthat seems so far away, Wil.ā€
ā€œItā€™ll be here before you know it. Focus on positive thoughts, youā€™re an amazing person and I know that you can persevere through it.ā€
A smile stretched across your face, ā€œthanks Wil, I really appreciate it.ā€
ā€œItā€™s no problem. Now go get a glass of water and get some sleep, you need your energy.ā€
From then on out, the family would tell you everything they like about you, even the smallest things they point out
You find sticky notes in your pockets and in your bags with positive messages on them often
You and Tommy would hang out with Tubbo and Ranboo and play some board gamesĀ
Tommy would be the one that acts like an angry chihuahua when someoneā€™s being islamophobic towards youĀ
Mans would be foaming at the mouth (you half joke that he actually might bite someone one day)
You trust them with your life and they trust you with theirs
They 110% support you through thick and thin, no matter what

- consistently smells like cigarettes and cheap cologne but he has the common sense not to buy axe since it reminds him of the middle schoolers in his school
- cant fucking cook to save his life because he refused to sit down and let Holly teach him. he suffers the consequences his first week in college and ends up eating dinner there for a month since heā€™s broke
- literally only smokes Marlboro Reds. like heā€™s super fucking picky about his cigarettes and it carries on for the rest of his life
- i canā€™t 100% tell what his sexuality is but i know he isnā€™t straight (itā€™s a gut feeling i just k n o w)
- i know everyone says he fucks but like,,, the concept of him having only dated jolyeneā€™s mom rather than having multiple past partners and just marrying her like all the white southern people do with their ā€œhighschool sweetheartsā€ in my area SENDS me
- i like to think that heā€™s bilingual since he grew up around his gramps and holly speaking it all the time so itā€™s kinda normal for him to stare into the distance for 2 hours straight trying to figure out the english word forĀ ā€œsaltā€ during dinner with his english-speaking grandparents

- BI-CON no you cannot convince me otherwise thank you very much
- probably has a male leaning preference tho cause like his vibe just screamsĀ ā€œtwinkā€ to me for some reason
- he somehow speaks better english than jotaro (whoā€™s grown up bilingual) and constantly likes to show it off by having conversations with his mom in front of him
- absolutely feral when playing videogames. like if youā€™re playing mario kart with him do NOT expect him to go easy on you since youā€™re a friend. in fact he might be even more competitive and a whole ass cheater byĀ ā€œaccidentallyā€ bumping into you while youā€™re trying to avoid a banana peel or some shit like that
- he likes cherries the most, but he pretty much likes any red fruit anyway. like he literally wonā€™t eat any fruit that isnā€™t red, just because he doesnā€™t find it appealing. itā€™s been like this since he was a kid and his mom is still pissed off about it
- kinda insecure about his body since heā€™s thinner than the rest of the crusaders but polnareff makes sure to ABOLISH that shit since kakyoin is the Skinny Legend none of them could ever be. polnareff is basically his hype man when he feels unattractive no cap
- literally hates the way cigarettes smell and has complained about it enough to get Jotaro to finally put on some fucking cologne to mask it (even tho it does a shitty job) but itā€™ better than being suffocated by the smell of smoke all the time

- notices and compliments ever new piece of clothing any of them get and gives tips for their wardrobe unprompted (that being said he would literally fucking die if he saw part 6 jotaroā€™s snake skin print pants)
- can COOK okay like this man can make a 3 course meal blindfolded and with his hands tied behind his back and it still comes out looking straight outta master chef. he can also grill, but not as well as joseph can obviously

- probably smells like sage and chai tea with a hint of cinnamon in there. itā€™s v calming tbh like he basically feels like what you think home would be if it were a person
- gorgeous, but very VERY uncontrollable hair. like itā€™s v curly and thick and stuff and so he ties it in bantu knots so it doesn't bother him. heā€™ll let it loose sometimes just so he doesn't end up having breakage or anything like that, but if heā€™s actually trying to be productive he has to tie it up somehow
- i personally believe in puffy ponytail avdol supremacy thank you very much
- names all of the chickens. yes, all of them. and he remembers every single one of their names too

- really likes film noir movies!! like the old shit is probably always going to be his go-to, but he also likes modern noir stuff too just because itā€™s so cool to him. highkey quotes lines from the movies when investigating something too and gets so excited when someone recognizes it
- i hate to fucking say it but i KNOW this man saysĀ ā€œgraciasā€ at Mexican restaurants to a) embarrass the fuck out of jotaro and b) because itā€™s canon that he has quote on quoteĀ ā€œfrequent failures at blending with the local culture and his struggle at battling Stands are a constant source of humorā€ (see the Joseph Joestar Wiki Page) and i plan to use that to the fullest of itā€™s capacity even if its a stretch
- highkey knows heā€™s a gilf but like refuses to let out the information that he has knowledge of modern lingo. heā€™d much rather use it incorrectly to make The Youth uncomfortable
- can actually use technology really well?? like youā€™d expect him to be a boomer about it but heā€™s knowledgeable to be able to help younger people with their phone problems (mostly courtesy of Hermit Purple)
- would die for some soul food at any given moment thank you very muchĀ šŸ˜Œ

Now that Nora's season is coming to end, what are somethings that you want for amira's season
Hi šŸ˜ I bet you thought Iā€™d never reply to this ask! Well, after you sent this in MARCH, I am finally posting an answer.Ā
Btw, I did the same for Noraā€™s season, and as a note, Iā€™m a white European and an atheist. If any of this is offensive or not my place to say, I preemptively apologize.
1) I would like for Amira's arc not to be about being Muslim. That is, Cris' arc isn't about being bi, it's about learning (and accepting) that she's more than the fun friend. That she has and can offer more to the people in her life. Nora's arc isn't about being a feminist, it's about not being so set in your first impression of someone that you don't notice red flags or don't notice them trying to be better people. Same with Eva and not being defined by her mistakes, or about Viri and her financial situation. And I would like the same for Amira.
2) I think one common denominator of all Sana seasons so far is that they've shown the mains doing something that people assume hijabi can't do when it's more like they're systematically excluded from participating. For Sana, it was basketball. For Imane, it was dancing. For Amira M, it was boxing. I joked on twitter that Amira N's thing should be binging TV shows and eating junk, proving that hijabi are really like anyone else, but on a serious note, I'd like for Amira's thing to be photography (and maybe modeling? since Amira's friend was taking pics of her).
3) A scene where Amira explains how she can be a feminist and a hijabi both, just so we as a society have that scene to point to when the question inevitably comes up again. Seriously, I feel like that's one of the questions I most often see people asking Hajar.
4) I want the association girls to have their own youtube channel. Or at the very least, their own instagram and/or twitter account. I would love for them to post memes punching up about their experiences.
5) I feel like, much like with trans narratives, there's this "acceptable" narrative for hijabi in mainstream society, which is: the character made the decision to cover after coming up with solid reasons to do so. I.e. she made the decision early and can defend it with inarguable rebuttals. It's like women can't be trusted unless they know 150% what they're doing, be it covering, or dating a girl, or going vegan, or any number of things. I really appreciate that Amira started covering just because it felt right, and she's finding meaning in it after the fact. I would like for this to be a thing in her season, that she's still figuring herself out, that she's not already an Islamic scholar.
6) I also think that's what makes her stand apart from the other Sanas. I feel like (maybe with Zoya's exception), none of the other Sanas would entertain a crush on a white guy. They'd have never drunk or flirted (like we know Amira used to do). It's like they're not allowed to fuck up, or can only fuck up in acceptable ways, like engaging in a flirtation with a non Muslim only because they didn't know he wasn't a Muslim, or had booze at home, but it wasn't theirs, etc. I'm hoping that they've made Dani a love interest specifically to explore this idea (and not because they wanted to whitewash a character or give less time to an actor of color).
7) On that note, SKAM Hajar brought up an idea that, because the hijab makes them super visible, hijabi are perceived as ambassadors of Islam, expected to be able to answer any question about Islam, but also that people will judge all Muslims based on whatever mistake they individually make. I would like for a potential bench scene to allow Amira to say that it puts major pressure on her to feel like she can't make any mistake, because every Muslim will be judged based on her making a mistake, having a shitty day, being in a bad mood, not wanting to be Muslim wikipedia that day, etc. That sometimes she just wants to be Amira, not Islam personified.
8) I would like for Dani's character to represent not just white society, but also childhood, the safe choice, the choice her parents would love, and for Sofian's character to represent not just Moroccan culture, but also like... SEXY risk, independence, novelty... Because I feel like when I see Muslim girl/Muslim boy/white guy love triangles in fiction, the Muslim guy is positioned as the boring choice (but still incredibly wrong because he's abusive or maybe even secretly gay and forced to beard by his parents), the safety, the guy you'd bring home to your parents, whereas the white guy represents independence and carving your own path away from your parents.
9) Just once, I would like for a Muslim character to say, "what do you think of Catholic priests abusing kids?" to someone asking them what they think of such-and-such Muslim majority country doing such-and-such to its citizens. Bonus points if it's Sofian's character.
10) I would like for Dilan to get an insta and a storyline. And for that storyline to connect to Amira's.
11) In general, I would prefer that parents be kept to a minimum (not to get rid of them entirely, of course, but to be kept at the level they've been in other Sana seasons). I just have never thought the point of Skam was the parents. And I get why they have a larger presence in a second gen kid, but I, personally, am more interested in what they represent in the main's life, rather than in giving them a lot of face time.
12) And, on that note, if they do with Amira what I've outlined above, I don't think there's a necessity for Amira to have siblings. Particularly if eskam isn't going to continue after this season. I think it'd be far more interesting if Amira's character contained the elements of figuring her identity as a Muslim living in a Western country that Elias, Idriss and Essam had. (And maybe that way Dani is both Yousef and Elias, stealing not just one role for an actor of color, but two! lmao)
13) I really hope that the obligatory evak s4 side plot be kept at a minimum tbh. I'm really not interested in a) Eloy coming back to cause drama, b) Amira's friend causing croana drama because she's Joana ex or whatever, c) a physical fight breaking out because of (perceived) homophobia.
14) I want Amira to tell Cris that amiris es lo mĆ”s real que hay. šŸ˜ I would love it if, as a parallel to Cris' season, Amira doesn't tell Cris about her interest in Sofian's character at first because she's afraid of her reaction, only for Cris to be supportive of whatever she chooses to do.
15) I would be so fucking happy if eskam adapted the "is your faith stronger than your lust?" scene in this season. I have always wanted to love that scene, because how often do you get a scene where two girls get to talk that long and that much (even in Skam most of the iconic dialogue scenes between just two people aren't between two girls in the squad), but I just haaaated the purpose of the scene in Skam.
16) I would cry buckets if we got a scene like Det Beste fra Islam where Amira and Sofian's character both talk about what Islam means for them. Particularly if Sofian is introduced as not the Perfect Muslim Man, but it turns out he has THOUGHTS about religion.
17) And, finally, I would love for the unquestionable villain of the season to be a white guy. If the villain is going to be a woman, then I would want her to be Cris' mom, not a high school aged character. Not because of white feminism yayyy! but because I think the major issue Sana seasons have run into before is that the showrunners want to touch on white girls being the problem, but they also don't want to villainize white girls. So we have stuff like Sana inviting Sara and Ingrid (of all people!!) to Eid, Imane apologizing to Ingrid (of all people!!), random one clip white women attacking Amira M (and the Kiki/Amira friendship of course), etc. I'd just rather they didn't have girls doing shitty stuff to Amira N, if they're going to go back on it. Which they inevitably would, because eskam's overall message is sisterhood.
Bonus clips
18) I would love it if Skam EspaƱa was like, "you thought we were dropping storylines left and right? Nope!" and resolved long standing mysteries like who was behind Eva's hate ig, who had the pills, who outed Cris to the school, who's the owner of the keys that were left behind at GSC, and so on. Will die if it turns out to be RamĆ³n!
19) I want Joana to get that job she wanted so bad last season!
20) I would love for Emma to show up and come out as a lesbian, just as a last hurrah lol.
21) I don't feel strongly about which couples should be endgame and not (other than not Dani/Amira hghvvh please), BUT in my most embarrassing fantasies, I want Skam EspaƱa to hire Alejandro Reina's irl boyfriend to play Lucas' boyfriend for the finale. Not because I can't separate fiction from reality or anything, but because when I thought Lucas would be getting a season, I wanted his boyfriend to be a poc, and I was highkey buttmad that they hired random white bread when they could just as easily have hired a poc.
22) I think it would be really cool if InƩs got a clip on her POV, but I don't think we're going to get it. I think all bonus clips will be from the squad's POV, i.e. Eva, Cris, Nora and Viri. Not even Joana.
23) I want a Mallorca special or episode so bad, and I will be so FUCKING ANNOYED if we don't get it. Seriously, I can't imagine the team didn't feel betrayed when they watched Skam for writing purposes, and didn't get their russetide. So they should know how angry we would be if we didn't get even a little bit of Mallorca time.

(Im not a company stan big hit can suck my ass)
1. Txt is not an aspect of bts? They are another group with a completely different identity. They are talented enough to match bts thats why armys love them and stan them. You are insulting them (and other groups) by saying that they are just another money making machine for bighit as a replacement for bangtan??
2. Idols hate bts lol everyone knows they do. They are from the biggest most prestigious companys yet they are huge flops compared to bts and that alone is enough for them to hate bts.. ik u are not asian but its a huge thing in asia, like if u work in a rich/huge company or are from a rich family u are so much superior to everyone else and then if someone without a strong background becomes more successful than them, the rich ones automatically hate them (if this sounds like the plot of a kdrama its because. Well. Kdramas are asian dramas and are based on real life)
3. Liking bts doesnt make one superior but liking continuously problematic groups does make one inferior and this is the main reason of twt fanwars because 90% of twt armys come from non western cultures and are deeply affected on so many levels by all the shit these groups and companys pull out every single month šŸ‘šŸ‘„šŸ‘ (dont say its just companys fault lol you know that nct member said lets not talk about this topic and its not just one example) ps: dont pull out the bts rapline were also problematic card bc they apologised for it and havent done it again
ok iā€™m gonna address point by point what you mentioned here. btw iā€™m assuming youā€™re different from the last anon i answered regardingĀ ā€œbts isnā€™t kpopā€ but if you are the same anon sorry for repeating stuff
1. i didnā€™t say txt is an ā€œaspectā€ of bts. i mentioned them because what they are is the second bg big hit has created from scratch and the immediate successors of bts, a company that, until txt, had NOTHING but bts going for them. and even though txt is already becoming successful, the fact is that, just eyeballing it, bts brings in about 90 to 95% of big hitā€™s total revenue. big hit has a challenge regarding what they will do to cement themselves as a company beyond bts, and txt is the first step in that direction. when i say cash cow i mean a secondary source of income. my intention was not to disrespect txt at all, which i made clear in that textpost!! i donā€™t even stan txt and iā€™ve kept saying that they were far better than bts on the end of the year performances!!! i said, and i quote ā€œtxt ate them up because txt is a new group (that has a lot of passion and are hardworking ofc, this isnā€™t attacking them personally)ā€Ā
just a little caveat though, an idol group is always a money making machine for a company... like. itā€™s important to me that you know that. like, i hope you know that big hit isnā€™t looking to make groups sayingĀ ā€œoh boy, i hope they flop! i hope theyā€™re happy doing what they like and i will never care about the utilities :)ā€ idol companies are literally some of the most money hungry industries because they often operate at a loss. donā€™t for a second think that bts and txt and any group is more than an asset for the company, whose sole purpose is to make money.
2. idols hate bts?? listen, in the entertainment industry thereā€™s always gonna be drama and backstabbing, so iā€™m sure thereā€™s animosity between many groups, iā€™m not naive enough to say that no one hates bts, the same way iā€™m sure there are plenty of idols who hate exo, who hate red velvet, who hate x or y. but the way you say this is such a delusional, paranoid way to put it. afaik, the last celeb/musician to trash talk bts publicly was befree or whatever tf his name was, that asshole rapper who mocked namjoon and yoongi and called them sellouts for joining an idol group. and that guy is a fucking failure! i think he even went to jail, didnā€™t he? so please, tell me who these other idols hating bts are, and where are the receipts so i can blacklist them.Ā
ā€œhuge flopsā€ lmao good way to put all the other groupsā€™ efforts down. stop thinking btsā€™ accomplishments are your own. theyā€™re not. you have no idea the amount of effort each idol group, small or big, puts in just to be able to debut, so stop disrespecting THEM by calling them all flops. i know iā€™m not korean, iā€™m not asian, but i have korean friends and according to them all these groups who are supposedlyĀ ā€œflopsā€ are doing well in korea. just because they donā€™t have international success doesnā€™t mean theyā€™re not commercially acclaimed in their own country. not everyone is out to get bts, i promise you. do you know whoā€™s out to get bts? their akgaes. their sasaengs, and their antis, all those people online who send jimin death threats, who break into their property, who take pictures of their families. THOSE people hate bts and do more harm to them than an idol who says they didnā€™t like their new album or who said they donā€™t dance well. like please let go of the victim complex for one minute.
3. one part of stan culture i fucking despise with my whole being is fanwars using cultural appropriation and racism as ā€œgotchaā€ cards. this is a clear example of this. first you say itā€™s inferior to like groups who have participated in ca. alright. i will give you that. the you turn and say bts hasnā€™t done that and that groups such an nct who have done it recently are to blame personally, itā€™s not just the companyā€™s mismanagement. okay! so by your logic, being a bts stan is superior because even though they HAVE done problematic things, they apologized. itā€™s really transparent how you pick and choose what is an acceptable apology and what isnā€™t based on your personal feelings about the group in question.
i just need to know if you are black or if you are muslim or from a minority that has been hurt by cultural appropriation, if you are then you will know that when an idol group apologizes for doing such things, it is no oneā€™s place but their own to decide whether to accept that apology or not. i am not black, or asian, i am a latin woman who canā€™t tell you whether itā€™s okay for bts to do the things they have done. you are contradicting yourself by saying other groups whoā€™ve done cultural appropriation are worse, and then turn around and say to meĀ ā€œdont pull out the bts rapline were also problematic card bc they apologised for it and havent done it againā€ because guess what? not everyone has forgiven bts either! they have said the n word! they have done native american culture appropriation as recently as december 2020 and neither them nor big hit apologized for that! yoongi releasing the mixtape with that jim jones sample in it was NEVER addressed by him. it was a company statement. so who are you to say that the people still hurt by yoongiā€™s actions, whether intentional or not, canā€™t talk about it and be mad at them? IT DOESNā€™T WORK THAT WAY.Ā
i am not here to pass moral judgement, thatā€™s why i donā€™t bring up ca in arguments. it is not my place to say whether what nct did with the muslim aesthetic should be forgiven, the same way itā€™s not my place to tell people who like nct that they are ā€œworseā€ for liking them. people who reduce their stanning to how many ā€œwoke pointsā€ you get based on the artists you like clearly donā€™t care about activism in real life, they just care about it online for fanwars. to feel better about themselves for likingĀ ā€œunproblematic kingsā€ and well i have news for you, NO CELEBRITY IS UNPROBLEMATIC. bts has learned from their mistakes, but they will continue to make mistakes every once in a while, case in point, the jim jones thing and the native american teepees appropriation.Ā

-hyped mod alex
Tumblr media
Jumin
-his strong faith in Christianity was admirable, his ideals set in stone as he abided by them; but of course there was the smallest bit of apprehension in getting to know him, how would he react to someone with ideals different than his?
-he was never one to announce his faith publicly, he still isnā€™t, however he likes taking with you about your respective religions, sitting on the balcony of his penthouse taking in the cool night air,,, wine for him and Aryanaā€™s Halal Cola shipped all the way from Montreal for you
-orders you the finest hijabs for you to wear, most of them custom made exactly the way you love them, elegant and refined. he also learns the level of modesty you tend to wear your clothes, buying you occasional stunning gala outfit that he knows youā€™ll both love and feel comfortable with
-you own the most stunning abayas
-absolutely takes you with him on his trips to the middle east. heā€™s an avid believer in learning about your own roots, and especially if you have family there, heā€™ll more than certainly take you, going together to see all the sights, take private tours of museums and enjoy life
-makes Chef learn specific halal recipes, and is more than willing to import any food you want from other countries that you cant get in Korea
-learns Arabic in about a year flat,, of course his Korean accent hits heavily, but its so sweet hearing him carefully pronounce sentences to your parents and or relatives
-on eid al-adha heā€™s aware of the old tradition to sacrifice animals and share with the poor, needy and family; so as a compromise he decides to donate 300 lbs of meat to various homeless shelters and soup kitchens. both you and him going down to help with transport, hand every box to the people, a sort of community service combined with observing a time old tradition.
-comes down with you to the night prayer at the mosque during ramadan, and even though he stays near the entrance and the garden out front, hearing the prayers coming from the inside and seeing all the people that you know and love around you, smiling and having a good time, it makes him happy
Jaehee
-she grew up catholic, lives catholic; but this isnā€™t to say sheā€™s close-minded to other religions,, she always loves learning more, especially if its about you, who she loves with all her heart
-when youre cuddling, she likes fiddling with the edge of your hijab, just feeling the material and knowing youā€™re there makes any day of hers better, no matter how hard it may have been
-you being muslim doesnā€™t have much of an impact, sheā€™s respectful to your beliefs, and even puts in halal foods in the cafe
-this is, of course, after months of her experimenting with different recipes, often finding her in the kitchen at midnight, flour on her face and apron dirtied, sleeves rolled up in a frenzy as she mutters under her breathĀ
-shes so proud to finally present the finished deserts and foods to you!!
-one time you used one of her woven silk scarves as a makeshift hijab when all of yours were in the wash and she almost cries seeing how pretty you are in her stuff (the scarf is yours now)
-always interested in your religion, and she likes learning the differences between the traditions she was raised with and the ones you were
-during Ramadan, the two of you keep the shop open later for anyone wanting to eat after the sun has set, figuring that no one had to break their fast alone if they didnā€™t want to
-she gets up very early to prepare Suhoor for you in the morning, a simple oatmeal with dates, blueberries, grapes, almonds and honey
-likes to read her own books aside you while you read the Quran and do your morning prayer, its often the most peaceful part of your day, just having a clean and quiet space as you both enjoy each others company while also doing your own morning routines
Yoosung
-sweet boy, he knows very little of,, well any religion to be honest, and outside of 10th grade history, his knowledge on Islam as a whole is quite limited
-always asking questions about your traditions
-heĀ reads the Quran at some point, wanting to understand you better,, and even though it takes him a long time (mostly due to having to re-read the passages over and over again to understand what was going on), but heā€™s devoted to learning about your culture
-he drives/walks you to the mosque, but doesnā€™t leave,, heā€™s not sure if he can go in, so instead he opts to walk around the area, enjoying the park and waiting for you to come back out so you can walk/drive back together
-he learns so many recipes specifically for you everything from mawmenye, harira, and moroccan krsa to berber bread
-he loves spending time with your family, he loves the sense of community and the celebrations that take place in your household, specifically during religious holidays
-he legitimately cries when you eventually decide to go to Mecca, leaving for hajj, because he knows he cant be with you for around a week and a half,, he canā€™t help it, heā€™s so sad he won't be able to see you for more than a week
-heā€™s so used to stopping all gaming and quieting down devices during salah, that even when youā€™re not around he still stops for five minutes at the designated times, mostly out of habit, but it also serves as a break from working, studying or gaming
-Lisa,, lisa loves your prayer mat, always trying to knock it down from its rolled up position next to the couch and sleep on it, so instead yoosung buys her a smaller prayer rug to lay on and its the cutest thing you've ever seen
Seven
-although heā€™s always been the one to mention his own faith in Catholicism, heā€™s also the one to be most curious about other faiths.
-he likes hearing you talk about the way you grew up, specifically hearing you talk about Islam and asking questions about traditions and practices you have to do
- ā€œwait y/n!!,,, are honey buddha chips halal???ā€
-if theyre not, he opts to buy pringles in bulk instead. hes going to binge eat chips and damnit he wants you to join him!!!Ā
-when it comes time for you to perform Salah, he makes sure that you have total peace, even stopping his typing for the duration, letting you connect fully with Allah and your spirit
-since theres little to no sunlight that appears in the bunker, he makes a simple little app that alerts you when the times of prayer come, pre-dawn, noon, afternoon, sunset, and night, using the bells that are primarily heard in mosques as the ringtone for the app
-if anyone dares to mess with you or insult you in any way, Defender of Justice 707 will send a nasty virus their way, because theres no way anyone is getting away with hurting his angel
-its canon that he knows Arabic, and often times, when you canā€™t go to sleep heā€™ll sing to you in the language, and although his singing isn't the best, focusing on the strength and passion in his words, the almost comforting way he sings, it sends you calmly to sleep
Zen
-incredibly respectful of your religion and the fact that youā€™re Muslim
-he sets himself to learn everything he can about your faith and things he might have to change or alter in his own life to be respectful of the way you live yours
-he cuts down on alcohol. a lot.
-this isnā€™t to say he stops drinking altogether but he certainly cuts down, only having a beer or two in the fridge for emergencies
-bursts in one day, phone in hand as he wheezes, leaning on the couch for support, ā€œy/n ArE wE hALaL dATiNg Or?ā€
-if you believe that sex should be saved to be only after marriage, he respects that, if not,, well he respects that too
-WILL spend extra money on an abaya from serenity scarves as a gift, just for you being you
-his only goal is to make you as comfortable as you can be, and he Will Not Stand for islamophobic comments directed towards you, but in most cases he won't even let them reach you, cutting off interviewers before they can say anything with a stream of gushing about how perfect you are, and smoothly taking you to the other side of the room if he thinks someone is looking at you, shooting them a mean glare before looking back at you and smiling, whispering something to make you laugh as you guys walk away hand in hand
-respect is this mans middle name, heā€™ll meet your family the second you start officially dating, making sure to make a good first impression, the second, and third, and fourth impressions
-likes going shopping with you, and is constantly in awe of how stunning you can make anything look, going to the little middle eastern kiosk in the mall to buy food
-heā€™s such a shameless fan of those cute matching couples outfits, and his heart bursts everytime your hijab matches the colour or pattern of his shirt or jacket

I don't like the song amazing grace or what it stands for in the context of african post-slavery cultural genocide juxtaposed with white western european colonialist christian values.
so like, african cultural heritage is what it is, right? it's heavily important to world history and obviously every ethnic group is valuable in its own way because humans are worthy of respect and stuff. that's a given.
so when slavery happened and the africans were stripped of their individuality and heritage and nationality and basically underwent mass cultural AND ethnic genocide. that fuckin sucks because a) slavery is bad and b) genocide is bad and c) being denied your birthplace and stuff is bad. I can't simplify this any further.
so what happened in history? many african slaves found solace in christianity and the bible because it gave them hope and distracted them from the hellish existence that is slavery. that continued throughout the generations past abolition through the civil rights movements and continues today. black christianity derived from slavery is the root of 90% of music we listen to today; it's heavily influential on today's cultural climate and the contributions of the black american cannot be denied. even now a significant portion of christianity in america is heavily attributed to african descended black people.
there's just one thing about that that really bothers me:
american christianity is heavily rooted in white western imperial european colonialism. oh no.
there are so many black christians with no idea where their ancestors lived or what cultural heritage they're derive from. they were robbed of their history. while white europeans have the privilege of being able to know so many things about their great great great etc grandparents. in this context white americans count because we're here because of european invasions. we can trace our lineage back for generations. so many of us know that we're 17% Italian or 17% Irish or 17% French or 17% Swedish n shit like that. most black americans don't know if their parents are part Kenyan or Ethiopian or Congo or Sudanese or whatever. that's why they refer themselves as black because all they have to go by is the color of their skin, because the people who owned their great great grandma sure as fuck didn't write down what country their slave came from because they didn't care because they treated black people as property because life was a godawful hellhole back then for most people. they don't get to know what country they're from like most white people do.
so when they turn to not only christianity but a specific form of christianity, protestant sects, it's like another step of cultural genocide. by embracing a religion created by white people to control minorities and women, regardless of how much they change it to make it their own, it's still rooted in the same bloody soil. they turn further from their own roots in the many different varying mythologies i can't talk much about because society values the mythology of nonblack people so much more: Greek, Norse, Egyptian (well the Egyptians were black but society loves to ignore that fact and whitewash them), Shinto, etc.
now I'm not saying that all black christians are directly responsible for participating in their own cultural genocide. that's an asinine claim. there are plenty of black jews, black muslims, black atheists, black pagans, black greek/norse/egyptian/shinto/etc followers, and surely there are lots of modern black euroamericans who still keep in touch with their cultural roots. the religious decisions of every individual are their own through mental autonomy and the ownership of their own consciousnesses.
what I AM saying is that christianity is a lot more insidious and evil than it appears to be on the surface. it was used as a defense of owning slaves- "africans deserve to be slaves because they're sons of ham, descended from the son of noah god cursed because the bible". it was used to protest abolition. it was used to uphold segregation. it was used to protest black votes. it's used to defend cops who kill unarmed men. it is, always has been, and always will be used as a weapon by white people against black existence. and the fact that throughout all of that, the exact same failed system of belief [speaking from a historical perspective of course because white christianity in the 16th century and beyond is massively poisoned by the bloated and corrupt papacy further than what it already was during the medieval and dark ages] was embraced so readily by the people that it oppressed...
it's just really concerning to me.
& it's not even a black thing. the prevalence of catholicism in mexican and other latin american culture is the same way. east asia is ripe with larger cultural superpowers eating the smaller ones and pretending they don't exist, just like china with taiwan, except not in a religious way. the holy roman empire did the same thing. and don't even get me started on the armenian genocide committed by the ottoman empire. and the fucking holocaust: hitler was christian. people say he wasn't a good christian since a good christian wouldn't try to kill the jews, the romani, the black, but are you sure about that? looking at all of history are you ABSOLUTELY SURE that white western imperialist european christian colonialism wouldn't try to murder everyone who didn't conform? naziism is on the rise again and it's masquerading as christianity. the president is a nazi and a christian.
no, this has nothing to do specifically with african and black populations and everything to do with christianity. except through "amazing grace" and its prevalence in that community.
also the man who wrote it manned slave ships. he was conscripted into it, became a slave in sierra leone for a while, and eventually became an abolitionist, but still :/ imagine if rommel the kraut of africa wrote a song and a hundred years later it became a celebrated jewish hymn. that would be incredibly fucked up and wrong.
but whatever, maybe I'm looking too far into this, maybe there's no illuminati boogeyman trying to erase black and jewish culture from world history, maybe it's all just a big goddamn coincidence that the victims of colonialism embraced the religion that the imperials used. ĀÆ\_(惄)_/ĀÆ maybe just maybe it's a fucking fluke.
anyway black people can like the song if they want. they can be christians.
I just hate the song and won't be a christian. you do you and I'll do me and we'll all get along happily.

i saw the words "london" and "middle school" and šŸƒā€ā™€ļø n e ways 2 and 23 for skammaker if you're still doing it? (and british middle school rights ofc!!)
2. What would you name your remake?
I really like Skam London, it just sounds nice to me idk.
23. What problematic elements would you change?
- Vera (Vilde) will say less offensive stuff, and when she does she will be accountable for saying offensive stuff and educate herself on culture and sexuality. on the other hand, i want Harisa (Sana) and Vera to have a closer friendship.
- Thomas (William) will be less sexist and rude tbh. heā€™s going to apologize to vilde without being promised a date. my Thomas and Nina (Noora) end up running into each other at the same concert which is wild lmao. Vera is also going to thank him for helping him realize sheā€™s a lesbian which will honestly be such an iconic moment it will snatch all of yā€™allā€™s wigs.
- April (Eva) wil be getting counseling for her alcoholism and she wonā€™t end up with jonas in the end. sheā€™s grown as a person and that relationship represents her past.
- the email thing wonā€™t happen, Nina also doesnā€™t move away her and Thomas try long-distance for season 3 and then break up. so Harisa wonā€™t be ditched by the girl crew, because Nina will defend her/try to understand her perspective with the pepsi max thing.
- a lot more LGBTQIA+ characters. Everything in og is very heterosexual, especially when it comes to the women. Not in my remake sir! Nina is bisexual, Vera is a lesbian, Maggie (Magnus) is a pansexual trans woman, April is still experimenting when sheā€™s in high school so she doesnā€™t know yet (but sheā€™s not into labels), and Alex (Chris B.) is ace.
- Issac (Isak) doesnā€™t invalidate Harisaā€™s feelings, because he lowkey does that in the og whether or not itā€™s his intentions or not. Issac will never be able to understand the experiences of a woman of color especially of a muslim woman. that scene really annoys me tbh.
- Issac doesnā€™t cheat on Emma, they go on like one date and then they break it off. he already knows he doesnā€™t like women, so when he meets Carter (Even) he is ready to give it all up.

I am arab but I do not feel any connection to my language or culture. I feel this may be the cause of Arabic and arab culture being heavily intertwined with Islam. At best it is extremely difficult to disentangle these ties; it makes me dislike my own background. How could I love a language that was in turn loved by such hateful people? I don't feel like I ever want to be a part of it, but technically, I am part of it. I'm tied to this culture, language, and religion by blood, and I am certainly not proud of my ethnicity, my nationality, and the religion I was born into. Being Arabic ā‰  being religious, I know, but I can't shake off the feeling that I'm not Arabian. I suppose growing up with Arabs who were all Muslims has put that idea in my head, that an arab is inherently religious.
The bottom line is, I do not feel, nor do I want to feel, associated with my culture, language, ethnicity, and even my family.
Do you feel the same?
How could I love a language that was in turn loved by such hateful people?
with this mindset idk how u can like almost any language. english? italian? spanish? french? russian? japanese? chinese? hindi? the list could go on forever. what makes arabic especially hateful to you? it has existed long before islam and is the language of many non-muslims too. arab christians have their own cultures and practices and yet they speak arabic. i just dont see arabic as somehow intrinsically related to islam, nor do i see my culture that way either. youre right that a lot of our culture has become so deeply intertwined with islam, but i honestly don't see traditions like eid to be hateful either. i dont see them as celebrating anything hateful either. many cultures of many european countries are also deeply intertwined with christianity, and yet even non-religious europeans i know i often see embracing christmas and easter, for example. so i dont see anything wrong w embracing religiously-rooted traditions like ramadan or eid either. i love that eid involves getting together w the family, giving money, generosity, often new / nice clothing n dressing up, + specific special dishes. i love that for ramadan we often will sit together and eat and watch a ramdan show + have special dishes, and that in ramadan many will go on the streets or from house to house to provide with homemade gifts or be generous in other ways. what i take issue with is when these practices are forced on others, like the fact that its illegal to eat in public in many countries before iftar in ramadan time.
overall no i dont really relate tbh. i come from a non-religious family, they dont strongly identify w arabness bc idk we're bahrani first & foremost and often they're shit talking about arabs. but i grew up with examples that made me separate my culture from islam. islam is something that was forced onto me outside my family and my friend circles nd family's friend's circles. the arabs i know drink and party and smoke and don't segregate by sex and wear non-"modest" clothing and get tattoos and piercings etc while also often times wearing abayas or thobes (my atheist grandpa used to always wear a thobe), or traditional bahraini attire, speaking arabic, etc so. idk. i just don't view it as an Islam Thing. i recognise that most arab cultures have become quite intertwined with islam, but i also see how our differences nd special traditions exist. we have girga3on in bahrain for example and this is a tradition specific to gulf countries + iraq. we have stuff like henna and we eat dishes like daal and these are all also my culture & show me our history as an island nation that was an instrumental trading area. we have pearl-diving and pearls and gold and many things that are so traditional to us but not at all related to islam but rather our specific area. all of this is still my culture. perfumes and spices and our dialect and the ancient dilmunian civilisation are my culture too and my heritage. these are the things i take pride in and wish will live on long after im gone. i dont consider praying 3-5 times a day, athaan, islamic beliefs, etc to be my culture, and i don't hate my heritage or want to disconnect myself from it bc of that. i was always simply born muslim, but i am bahrani and i always will be regardless of my beliefs.
